The 16 Bit Consoles recently played their first gig at The City Bar Open Mic Night near Guildhall Square on the 22nd October, which got cut half short along with all the first gig nightmares of amps blowing up, PAs cutting out, strings breaking etc!
Their second gig was far more successful...this time kickin' the night off at Docs, upstairs at The Horseshoe @ Elm Grove on the 1st November. The other bands that played were ska punk fusion outfit Looking for Kudos, cover rock outfit Tinnitus and sleaze rock outfit Common Revolt... This was actually the quarter finals of the Battle of the Bands in which the rockers came second. They were very pleased about the results and even a few people commented that they totally rocked out...Quote:"memorable" for originality!...good starting line. The semi finals are on Sunday 7th December at the same venue.
Currently, they're recording a 3-track ep which is sounding awesome. The songs on this will include: Rainbow Girl, Didn't Want, and Just another Rock & Roll Superstar
News Updates!

Yesterday night, the 'Consoles' played their 3 rd gig, headlining the premier night of Swallow Our Beat @ City Bar...many tickets were sold to both strangers and friends...and very importantly they also sold most of their EPs with the songs Rainbow Girl, Didn't Want and Just Another Rock & Roll Star, and put on a real good 'more than worth the money' kinda show. Between songs, they gave away 4 'consoles' hand-painted t-shirts and a signed cd to some very lucky people...and of course blew away their audience!
Their next gig is not far away now.
Oh, the Lodge will be adding the 'Consoles' EP to their website very soon, so keep checking especially if you haven't heard them yet.
Peace, and keep rockin'

Hi again!...Did you have a reasonably good Christmas holiday as usual? Fairplay and hoping your New year will be much better now that you can expect or dream to see "The Consoles" in action! Whatever happens, good luck to ya!
So anyways, apparently this web site rocks...so, why not make it rock even more?!
News so far is, is that if all goes to plan, The Consoles will be playing at the Battle of The Bands Competition at Royal Holloway University in Egham( I think that's where it is!) sometime in February...which means that "The Consoles" will get a good taste of what it feels like to play to a 1000+ audience with REAL equipment eg. monitors etc!
While they are waiting for this date, they will continue getting themselves heard and well-known in the Portsmouth area hopefully for as long as it takes!
Oh, here's where you can help...do you know or have heard of any local record labels? Do you know any contacts( plus their numbers) that would be useful to us? If so, put it down in the guestbook...thank you very much indeedy!
Well, that's it for the mo...thanks for the support! Keep rockin' and respect!

Hello! Been wanting to tell you so many things, but nothing's happened...no worries. Anyhoo, the Consoles 4th GIG (yes, 4th...why, oh why?) is on the 4th March. They will be playing at The Docs, upstairs at The Horseshoe. The other bands playing are Beatrimes, a new band called Pussyfist(great name!) and Schminky (name not decided). So, I guess you are wondering why the Consoles ain't played so much...well, most of them are students and it just so happens that they had to do their exams...frickin' university stuff!...but hey the dudes abide. However, there is still no where to practice for free and that's real bad as they're itchin' to play new shit. Oh well, wish em' luck, cos' they sure need it right now. Keep Rockin' out.

Hi again. So what about the 4th gig on the 4th March? To begin with Pussyfist( who are now called Silicon Sun) did not play on that date and neither did Schminky( now known as The Feral). Anyhow, a metal band( can't remember the name!) started off the night. Pretty darn mental music! Then came the Consoles!...started off pretty wierd cos' they weren't using their own equipment, but as soon as they kicked off, they were totally getting into it. Plus, they keep getting better all the time!...They played the usual set list excluding the last song "All I wanna do..."but they had a chance to go crazy at the end of "This Evil City" instead. To all those that went to the gig, respect and thanks.
The Horseshoe was jampacked, and according to a member of Beatrimes( no introduction necessary!), the headlining band that night...The Consoles were the most kick arse band there!.
So...what are the Consoles doing now?
Soon, there will be flyers to promote them and get em recognised...plus they're gonna record all the songs they've got at some stage this week maybe (unofficially though). As for gigs, will let you know as usual. Oh, still trying to work out how to put the tunes on this site. Advice from you would be sweet.
That's all for now. Keep loggin' in. Peace.
